    Top Reads of 2024

It’s not a secret to anyone that follows me that this girl here reads a lot. And when I say a lot, I really meant it. This year I tried to slow down thou because I feel like I’m running out of options, and the consequence is that I’ve been reading LOTS of craps, and and it’s getting me really cranky and even picker— if that’s possible 🤭— with my reads. However, I still managed to read 285 books this year, which is still quite a lot, I know 😩 but this girl here also has no shelf control at all 🙈 It wasn’t a hard task, to be honest,…

Can I Tell You Something? by Holly June Smith

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:• Christmas • forced proximity • praise kink • brother’s best friend • insta-love • I actually enjoyed this book, it was sweet and refreshing. The tension was really good. I just didn’t enjoy the ‘Mac ‘n’ Please’ chapters. They felt unnecessary and interrupted the flow of the story. I also think there was maybe a little too much smut, but that is a personal taste. Overall, it was a cute holiday read.  I liked the characters and the storyline. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 1 in the Snowbound Secrets Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. Hannah Richmond is about to spend Christmas with the man of her…

    Snowed In by Catherine Walsh

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉: • friends to lovers • Christmas • fake relationship • small town • I’m sorry I tried to get those sleigh bells ringlinging ting ting tingling too but this was very slow moving and not very interesting either. Read 60% of the book and I still hadn’t smiled, or laughed, or snowed. I finally decided to throw in the towel and pick something else to read.  ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 2 in the Fitzpatrick Christmas Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. Megan is dreading going home for the holidays. She’s the village pariah, the she-devil who left local golden boy Isaac at the altar…

Like I Never Said by C.W. Farnsworth

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:• sports romance • hockey • coming of age • fake dating • friends to lovers • it’s always been you • It was good but I expected something more romantic. These two were never in a relationship, only hookups, until the end of the book. Although, I loved the fact that they didn’t sleep with anyone else but them two.  This book starts as YA, but it spans several years, so I would categorize it more as a new adult romance. A lot can happen on a two-week trip to the Canadian wilderness. Auden Harmon learns her parents’ marriage is officially over. Expected. Accidentally gifts a five-hundred-dollar pen to a stranger. Unexpected. Neither…

The Summer I First Saw You by Elizabeth O’Roark

3.25 stars 𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:• age gap (11 years) • forbidden love • taboo • grumpy vs sunshine • slow burn • summer romance • angsty • I felt the chemistry and enjoyed the banter, but the story dragged on at some point. Also, the way Daisy broke into Harrison’s house and blackmailed him into letting her stay in his house rubbed me the wrong way.  Overall, it was entertaining but it would be better if the book was 100 pages shorter. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 5 in the The Summer Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. Once upon a time, my buddy’s niece was a toddler…

A Cross-Country Christmas by Courtney Walsh

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:Christmas • road trip • enemies to lovers • grumpy vs sunshine • one bed • closed doors  The heroine was rude, stubborn, and completely unreasonable for most of the book. There is really no excuse for how she treated Will. He was doing her a favor and she either ignored him or was overtly mean. It was very off-putting. Also, nothing too special or interesting happened in the story. Lauren Richmond isn’t a fan of Christmas. Which is why she rarely makes the trip home to the Midwest for the holidays. After all, she has plenty to keep her busy—namely, her duties as a set decorator on a TV sitcom. But…

    Forever Wild by Rebecca Jenshak

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:age gap • he falls first • teammate’s little sister • grumpy vs sunshine • sports romance • hockey • found family  The banter and jealousy parts was A+ with no holds barred specially in the beginning. And the grumpy sunshine created great chemistry between the main characters, but there were a few times where I thought something was lacking, like it lost the intensity for a bit. However, I still enjoyed this very much and I totally recommend it.  ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 5 in the Wildcat Hockey Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. The annoyingly handsome hockey captain glaring at me needs my…

𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓃𝓉:marriage of convenience • enemies to lovers • forced proximity • age gap • rich hero   Just another book about abusive relationship…but hey! If you enjoy toxic twisted love this book is definitely for you.   “Anyone who says money can’t buy happiness is probably poor and bitter.” ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 1 in the Sinful Manor Series. Each one can be read as a complete standalone. All Killian Barclay wants is to be left the hell alone.
