How to Kill a Guy in Ten Dates by Shailee Thompson
What a struggle! Jamie just annoyed me so much I just wanted to slap her the whole time. I could NOT hear one more “well in the movie this is what happens so that’s going to happen now” coming out of her mouth! šµāš« ā The kind of guy who knows being brave isn’t about being fearless, it’s about doing what you need to do despite the fear.ā A humorous, swoony, and downright terrifying slasher rom-com in which a cinephile gets caught in the middle of a murder spree at a speed-dating event and must use her encyclopedic knowledge of the romance and horror genres to make it as a…

This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page
Iām well aware Iām the minority about this book but thatās how I felt and I need to be honest about it. I really REALLY try to like this but honestly there is nothing especial and unique about this book. Itās VERY āP.S. I Love Youā just very slow paced and boring. I could not keep my eyes open while reading this. Twelve books. Twelve months. One chance to heal her heart⦠When Tilly Nightingale receives a call telling her thereās a birthday gift from her husband waiting for her at her local bookshop, it couldnāt come as more of a shock. Partly because she canāt remember the last time she…

Petty in Pink by L.J. Shen
Cute quick short story! Grant is not the typical hero Iām used to reading from LJ Shen. He is sweet and patient. Treats the heroine with kindness and love. Even though this is a short story you still can feel the emotions. Nothing felt rushed. A cute book to read on Valentineās Day! Return to the bestselling world of The Devil Wears Blackin this Valentineās Day spin-off where longtime friends with benefits unwittingly find themselves in a serious predicament. In New York Times bestselling author L.J. Shenās valentine-themed novella, a surprise pregnancy shakes up expectations between a romance-phobe and her longtime hookup whoās always wanted more. Layla Schmidt has artfully dodged Cupidās arrows…

No Matter What by Cara Bastone
Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by this. The book has a slow pace that may bore some readers who prefer a faster story like me. You hit 40% yet barely anything has happened. Another criticism is the lack of communication. It was hard to believe this couple was married for 8 years. TALK, just TALK with your partner! Thatās the secret of a long relationship. Sometimes love sends you back to the drawing board. After a traumatic accident threatens the foundations of their happy marriage, a couple tries to rebuild and find their way back to each otherāand themselvesāin this tender, slow-burn romance. Roz and Vin canāt look each other in…

In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde
Such a great story to help to ease the loss of the Windy City series. I really liked how Monty and Reeseās relationship developed and how natural their connection felt but I wanted to see them banter a little bit more ngl. Also, I feel like the story could’ve been shorter. I did feel the length in some parts but I still had a good time with it. I am very intrigued to see what Liz Tomforde has planned for her next series. As the first female team owner in Major League Baseball, Reese Remington has spent her entire life preparing for this role. With a sharp mind and years…

Cleopatra by Saara El-Arifi
I really love the way that Saara El-Arifi portrayed Cleopatra’s story. Cleopatra is always written as a misunderstood saint, or the devil incarnate but in this book we can see Cleopatra as just a person. A human being. A woman who is just trying to do the right thing for her people and her family. I would have given it a 5 but it was a bit slow and spent more time on her early life than the later. But this is a beautiful piece that intertwined historical facts and fiction, nonetheless. Queen, Legend, Cleopatra tells her own story in this evocative and sensuous historical epic Cleopatra, from the bestselling and…

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow
Iām the odd one out about this one. I was honestly bored to death while reading this. I really really want to like it and I tried! but reading essentially the same thing over and over again with just a few details changed each time isnāt my thing. It was a struggle. I couldn’t wait for it to end. I haven’t read anything else by this author and I’m not sure I want to now. From Alix E. Harrow, the New York Times bestselling author of Starling House, comes a moving and genre-defying quest about the lady-knight whose legend built a nation, and the cowardly historian sent back through time to make sure…

Reel by Kennedy Ryan
ĶĶĶĶā³ā„ Series: Hollywood Renaissance #1 ā°āŖ¼ reads as standalone 1- Reel1.5- The Close-Up2- The Score ā Each book in this series features a different couple and can be read as a complete standalone. But for maximum enjoyment, follow the recommended reading order. ā I thought this book had no end. My god, sooooooo damn long! The storyline was cute and all but truthfully I skipped through A LOT of this book. It had its highs and lows though, but, overall, it didnāt really intrigue me. Award-Winning Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kennedy Ryan launches a brand-new series with a Hollywood tale of wild ambition, artistic obsession, and unrelenting love. One…

The Heartbreak Hotel by Ellen O’Clover
The story line was cute, but the book felt like it dragged on too long. Also, Henry has apparently liked Lou since he first saw her, but we have no real reason as to why Henry likes Lou. Their relationship was sweet and I did like Henry, but it all felt so sudden. I do feel like this author has a lot of potential though. I will definitely keep an eye on her. ā I came because I have this new ailment where I feel sick if I haven’t seen you in a few days.ā A bed-and-breakfast for the brokenhearted might hold the key to another chance at love in…

The Storm by Rachel Hawkins
I tried really hard to get into this one but it was just a major struggle for me. DNF. St. Medardās Bay, Alabama is famous for three things: the deadly hurricanes that regularly sweep into town, the Rosalie Inn, a century-old hotel thatās survived every one of those storms, and Lo Bailey, the local girl infamously accused of the murder of her lover, political scion Landon Fitzroy, during Hurricane Marie in 1984. When Geneva Corliss, the current owner of the Rosalie Inn, hears a writer is coming to town to research the crime that put St. Medardās Bay on the map, sheās less interested in solving a whodunnit than in…
