Behind Every Good Man by Sara Goodman ConfinoΒ
πππππππ:workplace; revenge; jewish representation; female empowerment ; humor. Another fantastic book from Sarah Goodman Confino. Iβve read all of this authorβs books so far and havenβt been disappointed not once! As with all of her books, I was immediately drawn to the main characters. In Behind Every Good Man Confino weaves humor and play effortlessly with heartbreak and the reality of what it is like to be a woman in the 1960s. You really feel like you were living back in that time. You feel all the struggles of being a women in the 60βs. Kudos to the author for another entertaining, refreshing well-paced novel!! ππ»ππ»ππ» “Donβt underestimate what determined…

Dishonestly Yours by Krista & Becca Ritchie
πππππππ:best friend’s brother; friends to lovers; found family; morally gray characters; crime romance. The plot was messy with flashbacks, and a confusing love-hate relationship between Phoebe and Rocky. It dragged on a bit at times which made it difficult to stay engaged. For a story that follows people in that line of work, this book was pretty dull. I struggled to finish. “If you’re my shield, then I’m your crown”. “Being with Rocky feels lethal- like it could end me at any momentβ and yet, I loathe the very idea of stopping. “ Starting fresh is the only way Phoebe can escape a life of crime, but her best friend’s…

Same Time Next Year by Annabel Monaghan
πππππππ:second chances; childhood friends to lovers; first love; emotional cheating; dual timelines. I had high expectations for this book after loving Nora Goes off Script so much and enjoyed quite a lot Summer Romance as well, but sadly there was nothing special about Same Time Next Year. The pace was extremely slow. The transitions between past and present chapters felt choppy, especially due to the alternating POV. The writing often changed from 1st to 3rd person, it was annoying. Way too much back story, I would love to have read more of them in the present. I also never really felt the chemistry between the characters (either time!). I had…

Wildfire by Hannah Grace
πππππππ:college sports romance, hockey, one night stand, forced proximity. No plot. 400 pages of excuses to write about sex. Second book of this author I tried and felt the same way. But this is a personal taste. I prefer reading romances to swoon over and to get sweep off my feet rather than only spicy. I need more than that with my Romances. The latest in the Maple Hills series follows two summer camp counselors who reconnect after a sizzling one-night stand. Maple Hills students Russ Callaghan and Aurora Roberts cross paths at a party celebrating the end of the academic year, where a drinking game results in them having…

Rally by Devney Perry
πππππππ:accidental pregnancy, college sports romance: football, forced proximity, small town, found family, slow burn (post-pregnancy), he falls first. Iβm not a big fan of accidental pregnancy trope but it wasnβt even that that didnβt do it for me. Faye was too stubborn and became insufferable and while Rush stepped up to the plate and took responsibility, he didn’t really stand up for her with Maverick. Like, I understand warning your friend but Maverick was just awful to Faye when she hadn’t given him a reason to. All the fight and the push away went on for so long. I honestly didn’t feel these two. I wanted more sparks. It felt…

Never Lie by Freida McFaddenΒ
It was fast paced and easy to follow. A page turner for sure. I will give it 3 stars for these reasons alone. However, the twists donβt really feel very twisty because the story and the ending was predictable. I didnβt guess the exact outcome but I knew who the liars were. There werenβt any jaw dropping or any shocking moments for me in this story. . . . . . . Tricia was always on edge in the house, and the idea of Adrienne Hale made her very uncomfortable. She seemed like a scared little bird the entire time, not at all dark or dangerous like everything around her. Then…

Playbook by Rebecca JenshakΒ
πππππππ: fake dating; reverse grumpy x sunshine; reformed playboy; found family; sports romance; football. This book was so good! London and Brogan have one of the best meet cutes Iβve read in a while. The chemistry was felt from the start. The storyline was captivating, with well-developed characters that drew me in from the very first page. Their letters exchanged in the beginning was super fun, and their relationship felt really genuine. This book was an absolute delight to read!! I need every character in this book to have their own story! The Holland Brothers are really something special. “A helpless flirt and an unapologetic playboy? Yes. But heβs hard…

The Au Pair Affair by Tessa Bailey
πππππππ:sports romance: hockey, single dad, forced proximity, grumpy & sunshine, age gap. Tessa Bailey writing style in this book was cringeworthy and felt childish and anti climactic. The main characters have zero chemistry and I found it really hard to connect with either of them. This isnβt the first book that I have struggled with when it comes to this author. I think I just need to accept that Tessa Bailey isnβt an author for me. I keep reading her because I love her book covers but I cannot connect with her writing. Tallulah is smart, vivacious, and studying to be a marine biologist. Sheβs also twenty-six and broke. So…

Beautiful Beast by Neva Altaj
Content:mafia, age gap, retelling, rich hero, alpha male, forced proximity. Way to start a book, Neva Altaj!-” I rear back, my cock slipping out of my latest hookup. She’s sprawled in front of me on the desk, her red hair spilling over the edge.” That should’ve been my cue for how bad this book would be. The insta-love/obsession trope didn’t add much depth to the story either. Nobody touches what’s mine without fatal consequences, But when the most beautiful woman is brought to face my fury, My dead heart suddenly begins to beat again. There are no fairy tales in this life. Beauty will never fall for the beast. But…

The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
πππππππ:magical realism, dual timeline, second chances, time traveling, a touch of magic. It isn’t easy to come up with a new and different story in any genre. And The Seven Year Slip was a very creative and unique story. I enjoyed this so much more than The Dead Romantics. I fell in love with the characters. The emotions conveyed in the book felt authentic and intense. The romance was absolute magical!! A beautiful story that is full of heart. Sometimes, the worst day of your life happens, and you have to figure out how to live after it. So Clementine forms a plan to keep her heart safe: work hard,…
