Icebreaker by Hannah Grace
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: college sports romance: hockey & figure skating, frenemies to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy & sunshine. I tried Icebreaker again on audiobook cause I thought I wasnโt patient enough the first time I read it. But I guess itโs not me, but 100% you problem. The book drags on forever, even with the audiobook ๐ซ there is so many characters that is hard to keep track of all of them. There is a lot going on but at the same no plot at all. Couldnโt warm up to the heroine. Didnโt feel any chemistry there. What did I have in mind for trying this one again?! Ugh ๐ตโ๐ซ I gave…

The Ex Vows by Jessica Joyce
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:second chances, childhood friends to lovers, one bed, forced proximity, found family, anxiety/mental health rep. I donโt appreciate when authors try to push their political propaganda to readers because politics aren’t opinions held separate from life. The story itself is really good, but I just cannot wrap my head around the โpregnant personโ thing. As a woman and a mother I am deeply offended. There is just NO man on earth that can biologically carry a child for nine months and then birth them. Giving this power to menโbecause yeah biologically they are MEN, regardless of your beliefs or the way these MEN feel, it is absolutely baffling to me.…

The Unraveling by Vi Keelandย
I have mixed feelings about this book. This is a very bingeable read. I can certainly see why this book is getting such good reviews, but what I felt was an obvious plot, the final twist at the end was predictable. I also found the steamy scenes added to the story unnecessary. This is not a romance novel after all. We donโt need that. We want answers. Answers you wonโt get! You can tell this book was written by a romance author, but you can definitely see some potential there. I think Vi Keeland will get better at writing this genre if she writes more books. Overall, a dark and seductive…

Behind the Net by Stephanie Archer
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:sports romance: hockey, boss & employee, forced proximity, rich hero, possessive hero, fake relationship, slow burn, grumpy & sunshine. I feel like this book was too long, and for no good reason. Cringe dialogue, cringe storyline, cringe nickname, cringe characters!! The characters also have zero chemistry. He’s the hot, grumpy goalie I had a crush on in high school… and now I’m his live-in assistant. After my ex crushed my dreams in the music industry, Iโm done with getting my heart broken. Working as an assistant for an NHL player was supposed to be a breeze, but nothing about Jamie Streicher is easy. Heโs an intimidatingly hot, grouchy jerk who…

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:friends to lovers, dark romance, criminal heroine, possessive hero, funny, suspense slow burn. Written at a 3rd grade reading level, there is just no build-up, right off page one the characters were already in love and the dialogue was just awful. I rolled my eyes so many times in such short period of time that it gave me a migraine. “I would kill for you, and I have. I would do it again, every damn day. Iโd turn myself inside out for you. I would die for you. I donโt just like you, Sloane, and you fucking know it.“ Every serial killer needs a friend. Every game must have a…

First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston
First Lie WIns was slow and boring. I didn’t care about the story until about 70-80% when it picked up. A lot of things don’t make sense and are completely improbable. The main character was also completely unlikeable. In fact, there was not a sympathetic character in this book. But I found her love for her mother endearing. “Thereโs an old saying: The first lie wins. Itโs not referring to the little white kind that tumble out with no thought; it refers to the big one. The one that changes the game. The one that is deliberate. The lie that sets the stage for everything that comes after it. And…

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortuneย
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:brotherโs best friend, secret relationship, forced proximity, cinnamon roll hero, found family, small town, past & present timelines. If you are in it looking for a romance, get another book for you, you wonโt find it here. I am not even sure this book was about Felix and Lucy at all. The whole plot of this book was based on Felixโs bigger sister refusing to answer a simple question, running away from her life and her fiancรฉ days before their wedding and when she finally reveals it, it was not a big deal. Seriously, SO stupid! Lucy and Felix’s relationship was purely just hookups. I barely remember if there were…

A Thousand Broken Pieces by Tillie Coleย
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:friends to lovers, death/grief. I loved A Thousand Boy Kisses so SO much, and wanted to love this just as much but sadly this one fell flat for me. I didnโt feel nearly as many emotions as I felt while reading A Thousandth Boy Kisses, if any at all, to be honest. I couldnโt relate to the characters. Found them annoying AF! Sorry, but Iโm not sorry! ๐คญ to me they were just teenagers acting like teenagers when they donโt know how to handle life and their emotions., too much drama! I also understand this is YA so maybe I am not the right audience to this one. Even though…

Pretty Rings & Bronken Things by Kat Singletonย
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:billionaire romance, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, age gap, slow burn. While I throughly enjoyed the other two in the series, this one fell flat for me. It was so unbelievably boring. There didnโt seem to be a true connection between the main characters. The dialogue was poor and unengaging, with no relevance to anything but word count. The plot was weak. A complete disaster. Was this the same author that wrote the other two in the series, I wonder! “I’ve made the mistake of trusting a man before. I’m not doing it again. You can call me your wife, but don’t expect to have my trust.“ Pretty rings canโt…

Play Along by Liz Tomforde
3.75 stars ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐:drunken marriage in Vegas, boy obsessed; fake dating, only one bed, sports romance: baseball, found family. This is my least favorite book from the series and l blame Kennedy. She was a total B for more than the first half of the book. She did not treat Isaiah well. She was selfish and unlikable. However, she eventually does get her head out of her a$$, and I am glad she did. Isaiah is so charismatic and extremely loyal, basically a golden retriever, he did deserve better from her. Overall, the writing was good, the story flowed well and does make you feel things. But Kennedy oblivious nature to…
