Ick, no! The writing is so cringey. Just no! ๐ฅด couldnโt pass chapter 2!
๐ณ โJust sitting there talking to this girl. Looking at her. There was something big and scary happening inside of his chest that he couldnโt name or explain. Only that he wanted, needed, to let it happen. Somehow, he knew that she wasnโt a choice.โ
โ It wasnโt that bad, but putting everything Iโve read together it sounded bad.
๐ณ โBemused and horny and frankly, in awe, he watched her butt twitch the whole damn way to the bar, his cock turning stiff as a mallet in his jeans.โ
โ This wasnโt hot at all, jutโs crass! Specially when written without any emotional development between the main characters.
๐ณ โWho was this man? Heโd made it known that he was interested in her, like really interestedโand he did it without making her uncomfortable, which was not easy. At all. Especially considering his size. And his presence. His rough-edged charisma took up the entire room, let alone the couch. When sheโd watched him stride confidently toward the valet earlier and stop to acknowledge his fan, heโd literally frozen Chloe in her tracks. Sig had accepted those compliments from the valet without any false humility, just an air of security. In himself, his abilities, who he was.โ
โ So tall. So strong. So sure of himself. So manly ๐
๐ณ โThis moment, this night, officially felt like a dream. There was nothing but his eyes. The warmth of his presence. The quiet lull of their voices. The unique . . . knowingness between them.โ
โ This right off chapter 1??? Sounds so bad. Insta-love trope is simply the worst.
๐ณ โHe crushed the strands of her hair in his hands and loomed above her, which should have led to an aggressive kiss, but it didnโt. It led to a slow rocking together of lips, a teasing lick of his tongue, an appreciative sound . . . and oh, she opened, she let him press his tongue inside her mouth and lick it left to right, the growling upward movement of his kiss dragging Chloe up onto her toes. And she lost it. She simply lost it. Burrowed her fingers into his thick, wild hair and moaned her enjoyment at him, arching her backโand only then did he get aggressiveโand that consideration made her feel safe, made her feel heard and seen and appreciated. Hot and dainty, too. Like a sexy lion tamer.โ
โ SO damn cheesy!
๐ณ โGod, God, she just wanted to climb him for it. For being hungry, but respectful. Proactive, a man who takes initiative, confident enough to know she wanted to be kissed, but not overly so. Not so much that heโd press that advantage.โ
โ kill me now! ๐

Although the writing was in fact amazing and compelling, and it did have me turning pages, I wasnโt completely in love with the storyline. Iโm doing my best at not being so judgmental when reviewing this. So bear with me! ๐
If life taught me a lesson is that you canโt judge others when youโve never been in their shoes. Also, be careful of throwing stones, weย all live in a glass houseย too. We are all human beings after all. We make mistakes, we make poor decisions, we make others suffer. The bottom line is, did you learn your lesson?
That being said, it was still not easy for me to read about Bethโs story because Frank was a very good man, a too good husband to her and also a good dad. He loved his wife with all his heart. He would give her the moon if he could to. Damn! He gave her more than that. And thatโs what makes SO hard for me not to judge Beth. I believe her vulnerability made her take pretty poor decisions in life. And sadly, those decisions affected everyone around her. However, sheโs learned her lesson and thatโs life. Learn with our mistakes and not repeat them. Trying to become a better version of ourselves. Iโm genuinely glad sheโs got another chance for happiness. We can see she is a different Beth after everything and for that this book was truly beautiful. That is exactly how each of us is, imperfectly beautiful. This book definitely evoked strong emotions and made me cry in the end. I wonder how long it will be before my heart lets this one goโฆ it definitely deserves all the stars.
Have a great week, everyone! ๐

1- The author should do some research when writes about something she doesnโt have much experience with or knowledge. False positive pregnancy test is very and I mean very rare. Almost impossible! And it only can happen in rare cases like testing too soon after a miscarriage, abortion, or childbirth or if you are taking fertility medications that contain hCG. So if the test says you are pregnant, YOU ARE PREGNANT! The opposite though, itโs more common.
2- While the hero was still a virgin he was way more sexually experienced than the heroine and that bugged me a little. Didnโt he promise all his first to her as well?
3- The plot twist although unexpected, was once again a bit ludicrous. I felt like I was suddenly watching a bad soap opera on TV.
3- Ten years!! Ten f*cking years so they can finally be in the open for the world because they were once step siblings. Their parents married when they were 18! Eighteen!!!!!!! And they were married like for a year or two and then you have to wait 10 years to tell the world you two are togheter. Nope! That was a bit of a strach to me.
4- The ending also felt rushed.
That being said, I read this in one-sitting. Rina Kentโs writing is immersive and full of palpable tension. The chemistry is also off charts! Even if it wasnโt perfect, it was still a great read for me. I will give this 4 stars, nevertheless.

I wish we had more background about Rhys and the lost sister friendship. We are told but never shown theyโve become close and when she passes, she left him as the guardian of her three-year-old child. But hereโs the thing, Rhys is a broody guy, the kind that likes his space and privacy, it was hard to see him as a loving and caring dad out of the blue. There was zero relationship developing with the kid. We never saw him interact with the kid before, and has BARELY seen these two together after, for that matter! How on earth am I supposed to see feelings between them? Just because the author told me he loves and cares for the kid I donโt have to suddenly believe her. Show me! Make me feel them!! Make me feel the relationship!!
Also, the chemistry just wasnโt there. All the characters were one-dimensional. And couldnโt get why all the mystery surrounding the heroโs career. About thatโฆ Wrestling??? From all the sport in fighting you seriously picked wrestling!? Such a buzzkiller!
โI breathe him in, and he breathes me out, both of us toeing the edge of what could be a disastrous fall.โ

Idk why I read this when Iโm well aware of the fact that Samantha Youngโs writing just doesnโt impressed me anymore. Since her On Dublin Street Series, maybe even a bit before that, I am always so bored with her books, so this is entirely on me.
This book was unnecessarily too long. All the explanations and background stories given about every single character from the previous series over family dinners felt a bit overload. If Iโm being brutally honest, they felt like fillers. I was so bored.
The banter felt immature and juvenil. Too many side characters, it felt more like the author was trying to set up stories for future books than part of the story. I wish I could say I loved this but sadly I didnโt. However, Iโm sure if you are fan of the author you will love this as many other readers have. So I wouldnโt hesitate to read it.

โ FIRST TIME CALLER by BK Borison โ
It started off really strong but once Lucie joined the radio show I started to really have issues with the book and it just went downhill slowly.
1- So Lucie says and Iโm quoting her here:
โNo, thatโs not what I mean. I donโt want to try. All I do is try. All day long, Iโm trying and Iโm so tired. Why canโt this be the one thing I donโt have to try at? Why canโt it be a thing that just . . . happens? I donโt wantโI donโt want to think about what I should say or how I should act or . . . or have talking points in the notes app of my phone for a dinner date at a restaurant that I donโt really like. I want to feel something when I connect with someone. I want sparks. The good kind, you know? I want to laugh and mean it. I want goose bumps. I want to wonder what my date is thinking about and hope it might be me. I want . . . I want the magic.โ
That quote gave me the feeling that Lucie wanted love happening naturally. She wanted magic. She wanted fireworks w/out having to try so hard. All she does in life is try. Then all of the sudden the girl was on a radio station talking to listeners looking for love while she specifically said SHE DIDNโt WANT TO HAVE TO TRY SO HARD!??
2- The book was also too long for a contemporary romance. The story wasnโt progressing, I was bored AF at some points.
3- I could understand Lucieโs cute little speech about love getting her on the radio, but all the commotion about it was a bit too much just for that.
4- Aiden was so emotionally unavailable and I saw very little character growth. I wanted more from him. I did like Lucie thou, and I loved her relationship with her daughter!
This book definitely has its cute and sweet moments. The ending was absolutely adorable, not all is lost ๐ but definitely not my favorite from the author. However, Iโm clearly in the minority with this one, so donโt let my review sway you from giving it a go, so many other readers loved this!

Goooooood Lord, I didnโt think that this book was going to rip my heart out and make me sob like it did! Looking at the cover, I was expecting a cutesy breezy book. But to be fair, the authors did warn you that this book was different from anything else theyโve written. The only reason it didnโt earn all the stars from me was because I kind of felt that their relationship was rushed-ish. Maybe itโs me. But I still love this regardless!
