Review
This is my least favorite book from the series and l blame Kennedy. She was a total B for more than the first half of the book. She did not treat Isaiah well. She was selfish and unlikable. However, she eventually does get her head out of her a$$, and I am glad she did. Isaiah is so charismatic and extremely loyal, basically a golden retriever, he did deserve better from her.
Overall, the writing was good, the story flowed well and does make you feel things. But Kennedy oblivious nature to Isaiah and what she wanted from him was so unattractive.
Can’t wait to read Rio’s book!
“Dedication to being perfectly imperfect.“
āGrief seems like a privilege, in a way,ā she says. āTo have loved someone so much that you canāt imagine life without them.ā
“And with full control of my body, he leans down, dipping me like weāre in some kind of goddamn Lifetime movie, and still his mouth never leaves mine.”

Iām the only woman on staff for the Windy City Warriors, and after years of putting up with a sexist lead doctor, Iām desperate to land my dream job with a new team next year. All I have to do is maintain my professional reputation for my final season in Chicago.
But a Las Vegas run-in with the teamās shortstop threatens it all, leaving me with a fuzzy memory and a ring on my left hand.
Now, not only am I legally bound to the most persistent man Iāve ever met, but thanks to Isaiahās scheme to save my job, I have to pretend the whole thing was a planned elopement and not a drunken mistake.
Isaiah Rhodes is reckless, impulsive, and frustratingly charming. Heās also my brand-new husband.
They got the saying wrong. What happens in Vegas doesnāt always stay in Vegas⦠sometimes it follows you right back home.
Isaiah
As the shortstop for Chicagoās professional baseball team, Iāve had my fair share of fun. But that all ended the day Kennedy Kay became a single woman.
Iāve crushed on the teamās athletic trainer for years. Iāve flirted to no avail, so imagine my surprise when I woke up in Sin City with a ring on my finger and my favorite redhead in my bed.
We agree to stay married for one baseball season, just long enough to keep her job safe, but in my mind, Iām using our time together to prove to her Iām husband material.
Kennedy might be reluctant to join in on our game, but itās one I refuse to lose.
So come on, wife⦠play along.
