Review
Such a heartfelt and relatable book. One that made my heart full⦠There’s something about the way Annabel Monaghan writes that is so unique and it just pulls you in every time.
Even though this is a lighthearted story, it still covered grief, depression, complicated family dynamics, divorce, and motherhood. I’m always amazed by how this author manages to cram so much plot and heart into a few pages.
Definitely a summer treat!
“I want a break from my kids without missing a single minute of their lives. I long for a partnership, and I long for freedom. I long to be enmeshed with someone without losing myself. I want all of it.“

Benefits of a summer romance: itās always fun, always brief, and no one gets their heart broken.
There arenāt enough labeled glass containers to contain the mess that is Ali Morrisās life. Her mom died two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasnāt worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember. Sheās a professional organizer whose pantry is a disgrace.
No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardwareāoveralls count, right?āshe meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her in the same way he claimed his favorite of her three children: by peeing on him. Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just rightālike he likes what he sees. The last thing Ali needs is to make her life messier, but thereās no harm in a little Summer Romance. Is there?
