Review
There is just no buildup to the relationship or character development in this book.
I don’t mind smut in books, but I need to have felt some sexual tension and some relationship development between the main characters before they have any sexual interaction or also become a couple. I’m okay with a one-night thing in books but that’s not the case here. Chase had never acknowledged or even noticed Cammie before and suddenly, he wants to spend the eternity with her? Ugh 😑 also, I couldn’t buy Cammie, her character, she hides from everyone, is this introvert quiet coy girl and is suddenly that confident in bed? Hard to believe.
I have books I love of Helena Hunting, but I most likely will not be reading her future novels in this college setting anymore. It all sounds the same, more smut than plot. She writes them like a formula. No heart.
“I mostly listen to audiobooks when I have to read novels.” “It’s still reading, just with your ears.” Plus, it can really bring the story to life with the right narrators. And don’t get me started on the immersive graphic audio. That’s a movie in your mind.”
Blurb
Chase Lovett.
Star of my (unrequited) fantasies.
Hottest guy on campus.
Hockey god.
Too bad he has no idea who I am. Literally, I’m so invisible to him that he once sat on me in class.
No thanks to a fire in the dorms, he just became my accidental roommate.
Did I mention the hotel room our university moved us to has only one bed?
Not ideal.
Worse, I accidentally left “My Precious” Lord of the Ringsunderwear hanging to dry in our shower.
My actual nightmare.
My name is Cammie Lovelock and this might just be the worst, best thing that’s ever happened to me.
