First and Forever by Lynn Painter
3.75 stars This was such a fun, easy, feel-good read. I loved the banter between our main characters Duffy and Connor. It was witty, playtul, and had me laughing out loud more than once. I am giving this 4 stars because I found the story to be a little slow at times. But other than that this was a super cute read and it’s perfect for those who want a light sports romance! The audiobook took this experience to another level. It was perfectly done. And I must say, Aidan Bissett must’ve become one of my absolute favorite narrator. His voice is simply sublime. So damn hot! 🫠 ❝ I…

Good at Being Alive by Elizabeth O’Roark
The writing was solid but I never truly felt invested in their relationship. It has some really good banter in the book, I will give you that, but I just couldn’t feel any romantic connection between the main characters. I also didn’t like how the accident that killed Bex’s entire family was handled. It lacked empathy. Specially from Theo. ❝ I don’t understand why we expect a person who’s experienced a devastating loss to…perform. To offer a eulogy. To choose between an open bar or beer and wine only and to decide if finger sandwiches are really worth three grand. I don’t understand why we expect a grieving person to design…

Game On by Navessa Allen
͟͟͞͞➳❥ SERIES: Into Darkness #3╰⪼ reads as standalone I only got this cause I honestly forgot the series this was part of. If I knew, I would have done myself a favor by sparing myself of reading this. Do I like my books spicy? Absolutely! Do I like them only spicy with no depth at all?! Absolutely not! I forgot what this author was all about. Not saying she is bad, just that she isn’t one for me. I prefer my books with more depth, and where you can feel the feelings shared between the main characters. When it’s basically just smut, it seems like I’m reading porn more than…

The Missed Connection by Tia Williams
The premise sounded very promising but the pacing was awfully slow for me and the story felt repetitive. There was a lot of miscommunication, the search for the man on the plane seemed to be drawn out unnecessarily, and I felt there were situations brought up in the book with the detective and his other dealings that really added nothing to the story. But then I think the problem can be me. I really don’t this author writing is for me. I’ve been trying to connect with her since lots of readers seem to love her books but I just can’t! ❝ She had led herself on . It was…

Blood & Roses Volume 1 by Callie Hart
͟͟͞͞➳❥ SERIES: Blood & Roses #1-3 If you’re looking for something like Quicksilver, you’re in the wrong place. I am honestly not sure all the Quicksilver readers will enjoy this, but if you pick it up knowing exactly what to expect, you may not be disappointed. It’s dark, but not too dark—just enough edge to keep things interesting without emotionally ruining you (finally!). It’s a mafia romance and it is very spicy. And although I think their relationship has been too surface-level so far for me, and the ending was a bit of a let down also, I had a really good time the whole way through. I just expect…

The Name Game by Beth O’Leary
Boring AF! I couldn’t even finish it. ❝ All right, had a little cry. That’s fine, that’s allowed. Can’t just repress feelings through sheer force of will—that way lies traumatizing your future children with your emotional inadequacy. Very boomer. Must avoid.❞ A man and a woman with the same name are looking for a fresh start only to discover they have landed the same job in this charming new romance by bestselling author Beth O’Leary. Charlie couldn’t be happier to take the job of farm shop manager on the remote, wild Isle of Ormer. She’s grieving, a little lost, and in desperate need of a new beginning. Jones has come…

Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It by Brooke Averick
I didn’t like the writing. It was incredibly boring and flat. The audiobook didn’t help much either. But as I say an audiobook can either enhance your experience with the book or it can ruin it for you. And this case it completely ruined it for me. I was annoyed the whole time. Meet Phoebe Berman: despite being a hopeless romantic, she’s about to be a thirty-year-old virgin. With one month before her milestone birthday, she’s determined to finally lose it…if her own anxiety doesn’t slow her down. The can’t miss debut novel from podcaster and comedian Brooke Averick. Because is it possible to find true love when going on…

The Someday Garden by Ashley Poston
Sadly, this was not one of my favorites by this author. The story never fully grabbed me. The pacing didn’t help much. A third of the way in, I was still waiting for the story to find its footing. The main characters didn’t have much chemistry either. A bit boring I may say. Overall, a cute read about griefing and healing, it just doesn’t have the same magic The Seven Year Slip has for sure. The new head gardener at the enchanting Lilymoor House stumbles upon a secret garden . . . with a mysterious man trapped inside, in the next magical novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Sounds Like…

Bad Boy Era by Amy Daws
͟͟͞͞➳❥ SERIES: Mountain Men Matchmaker #4╰⪼ reads as standalone I used to love Amy Daws past books but I think she isn’t an author for me anymore. I don’t know if I’ve changed as a reader or if it her writing style that has changed. Either way, I just can’t connect with it anymore. I find her recent books very lacking and not funny at all. Mountain Men Matchmaker Series: ∗ Each book in this series features a different couple and can be read as a complete standalone.
