If You Stayed: A Haunting Second Chance Romance by Brittainy C. Cherry
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ second chance ➺ amnesia ➺ childhood best friends ➺ failing marriage ➺ then and now chapters ➺ forced proximity ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ Sadly, I found this book to be pretty lackluster. It didn’t capture my heart or touch me emotionally as BC Cherry’s books usually do. Not a bad book, it just lacked something for me. I loved how the author wrote the abuse of a narcissist though. Spot on! That’s the only part of the story that grabbed me. The romance was pretty bland. No chemistry at all. There once was a man who loved me, until he forgot every memory we’ve ever shared… Gabriel Sinclair would forever be my first.…

Maid for Each Other by Lynn Painter
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ opposites-attract ➺ fake dating ➺ millionaire and his maid ➺ grumpy vs sunshine ➺ forced proximity ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ Lynn Painter has such a great style of writing. I usually love her books. Her dialog is always easy and fun to read. However, this time the story did not fill me with the butterflies and heart eyes that the author’s books usually do. I still liked this though. Maid For Each Other was cute with all the pretty woman/ maid in manhattan vibes. I just didn’t get how all the love came to be. There needed to be more from Declan and Abi as a couple. I was into the fake relationship concept…

Dear Reader by Tate James
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ dark romance ➺ reverse harem ➺ why choose ➺ enemies to lovers ➺ step siblings ➺ fake relationship ➺ college ➺ cruel hero ➺ secret society ➺ suspense ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ I’m always down for a reverse harem but this story was so lacking. I wanted more chemistry. More relationship buildup. More character development. The mystery plot was uninteresting and not engaging. And the spice was SO bland. The FMC was also just an airhead who was too distracted by a pretty face and just too desperate to get laid by any of the guys. It doesn’t matter if they were cruel to her and walked all over her. I seriously don’t…

Severed Heart by Kate Stewart
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ dark romance ➺ age gap ➺ military ➺ suspense ➺ mental trauma ➺ ➺ past abuse ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ I know I’m the minority about this but this book was SO boring! It took me forever to finish. 700 hundreds pages of nothingness. It could be 400 pages shorter and yet I still think it would be boring somehow. I also couldn’t stand Delphine. She was an awful character. I don’t think I will continue reading the series. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 2 in the Ravenhood Legacy Series. Pucking Sweet by Emily Rath
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ sports romance ➺ hockey ➺ why choose ➺ mmf ➺ reverse harem ➺ workplace ➺ friends to lovers ➺ accidental pregnancy ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ Romance novels today are all about porn. And from all the high rates, we can tell I’m the minority about this. I prefer romance with more depth though. Emotional connection and a good plot is everything in this genre for me. The spicy is just a plus. I don’t enjoy when sex scenes are basically the whole story. But if smut is everything for you in romance, this one fits perfectly the bill. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 3 in the Jacksonville Rays Series. Each book in this…

Hate Me by Summer O’Toole
3.25 stars Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ dark romance ➺ mafia ➺ rival families ➺ second chance ➺ childhood friends to enemies to lovers ➺ marriage of convenience ➺ touch her & die ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ The story started off strong but as soon as they got married, Finn turned into a whipped lovesick boy and the story lost the excitement for me and became a bit cringey, to be honest. However, it was still an entertaining and spicy dark romance book. I actually enjoyed this more than book 1. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 2 in The Fox Family Crime Syndicate Series. When I Should’ve Stayed by Max Monroe
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ ➺ small town ➺ he falls first and harder ➺ second chance ➺ mutual pining ➺ it’s always been you ➺ flashbacks ➺ emotional damage ➺ found family ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ The lack of communication was maddening 🤯 so many things didn’t have to happen if Josie had simply talked to Clay, who worshipped the ground she walked on… Yes, she should have stayed. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 2 in the Red Bridge Series. Make Me by Summer O’Toole
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ mafia ➺ obsession at first sight ➺ he falls first and harder ➺ touch her and die ➺ secret identity ➺ workplace ➺ ➺ suspense ➺ OTT, obsessed, and a little insane hero ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ I really wanted to love this book but I could not get past the disdain I had for the fmc. Some of her actions were just too ridiculous and frustrating. Cash and Harlow relationship has also no depth, no develop connection. Although the smut scenes were good, the “daddy” thing was a huuuuge turn off. ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ This is book 1 in The Fox Family Crime Syndicate Series. Little Liar by Leigh Rivers
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ OTT hero ➺ obsessive & possessive hero ➺ touch her & die ➺ ➺ ➺ who did this to you? ➺ taboo ➺ forbidden love ➺ forster siblings ➺ dark romance ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ ⚠︎ Trigger Warning ⚠︎⋙ 18 and older, graphic language, non-traditional methods and play used ⋙ Honestly, I was mostly uncomfortable while reading this. Malachi sure has some kind of a mental disorder. That obsession and twisted devotion for his foster sister screams red flag to me. The things he did with her while she was unconscious because he drugged her were sexual abuse, let’s be honest. I couldn’t like Olivia in part 1, much less their parents but their…

The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager
Content:⋆✴︎˚。⋆ mystery ➺ murder ➺ supernatural ➺ dual timeline ⋆✴︎˚。⋆ I just couldn’t get into this book. A woman primarily staring across the lake spying on her neighbors while drinking heavily. So damn boring. Just writing a review for this book is putting me into sleep. Casey Fletcher, a recently widowed actress trying to escape a streak of bad press, has retreated to the peace and quiet of her family’s lake house in Vermont. Armed with a pair of binoculars and several bottles of liquor, she passes the time watching Tom and Katherine Royce, the glamorous couple who live in the house across the lake. They make for good viewing—a tech innovator,…
